Eastern Buying Conference 2016 to Be Held in East Rutherford, New Jersey

The next Eastern Buying Conference will not be—as previously announced—at the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, New Jersey, April 2-3, Beauty Store Business has learned.

Instead, it is returning to a site longtime exhibitors and attendees are more familiar with: East Rutherford, New Jersey, where it was held for many years before moving to Atlantic City, New Jersey, and then to Somerset this past April.

Eastern Buying Conference to Be Held in New Venue

Officials of the Northeast Beauty Rep Association—which has hosted the Eastern Buying Conference and its predecessor, The NEBRA Show, annually since 1982—are excitedly welcoming a new venue this year.

The 2015 manufacturers rep firms' trade show will take place Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19, inside the Garden State Exhibit Center in Somerset, New Jersey.

Setup is Friday, April 17, and the host hotel is the Holiday Inn Somerset.

The show floor is sold out, EBC show manager Patty Paletto has told Beauty Store Business.

Burmax Acquires Product Club

Beauty sundries provider Burmax Co. has acquired Product Club, which specializes in haircolor accessories and education. As part of Product Club's continued growth, Burmax intends to expand its new haircolor accessories division into the company's beauty school network.

2015 EBC to Be Held April 18-19 in Somerset, New Jersey

The Eastern Buying Conference—which wrapped up March 31 in Atlantic City, New Jersey—is moving to the Garden State Convention Center in Somerset, New Jersey, next year, show officials have announced.

The 2015 dates for the trade show that draws beauty retailers and beauty distributors and is hosted by the Northeast Beauty Rep Association—also known as NEBRA or NeBRA—are April 18-19, back to a Saturday-Sunday format.

The dates are well after Easter and Passover in 2015 too.

Target has expanded its ever-growing Beauty Concierge program to 95 stores in New York, New Jersey, the San Francisco Bay Area and the Dallas-Fort Worth market. "We’re thrilled with the early success of the Beauty Concierge program and its expansion to more markets across the country,” says Christina Hennington, Target’s vice president of beauty and personal care.

The program is now available in nearly 300—or about 17%—of Target's 1,797 brick-and-mortar stores across the United States. (Target also has 122 brick-and-mortar stores in Canada.)
