Silver Hair, Co-Washing Are Top Hair Trends

It turns out that the “granny trend” of women of all ages coloring their hair shades of silver and gray is more than a media craze. Hair colorant sales within the brights and silver shade groups were up 46% and 14%, respectively, in 2014, according to Kline PRO, a product-level database published quarterly by global market research and consulting firm Kline.

Federal Bill Introduced on Oversight of Personal-Care Products

On April 20, U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-California) introduced and U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) co-sponsored the Personal Care Products Safety Act, which they say will protect consumers and streamline industry compliance by strengthening the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s authority to regulate ingredients in personal-care products.

2015 Distributor Executive Conference

The Professional Beauty Association’s 2015 Distributor Executive Conference, hosted by Neill Corp.-The Salon People, will take place April 8-9 in Hammond, Louisiana.

The annual event is designed as an educational and networking opportunity for independent beauty distributors of all sizes, and will include training, speakers and panel discussions focused on leading trends and topics of interest for today’s beauty distributors.
