The expert advice offered through the CVS/pharmacy Beauty Board has received a boost. Launched in June 2011, the board features a panel of beauty experts who provide interactive content and advice to fans of the CVS Beauty Club Facebook page.

The goal of the board is to provide exclusive insight and real-time advice to the 12 million members of ExtraCare Beauty Club—which is an extension of the CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare Rewards Program and provides members with additional rewards on beauty purchases and other beauty-specific benefits.

The updated Beauty Board is focused on providing fans with more personalized answers. In addition to direct access to the new Beauty Board, the more than 320,000 fans of the CVS Beauty Club Facebook page will also find new ways to interact with the experts and receive their beauty content.

A new additon to the Beauty Board is Dr. Dina Strachan. The New York-based, board-certified dermatologist also serves as assistant clinical professor at New York University and as a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Strachan will provide personalized skincare advice and product recommendations.

Celebrity makeup artist Mickey Williams will remain on the Beauty Board, continuing to offer fans tips on makeup application, hairstyle how-tos, trends and info on the newest beauty products.

Rotating Guest Experts will consist of industry influencers, beauty-brand experts, and noted editors and bloggers. Guest Experts will also host live chats on the CVS Beauty Club Facebook page.

"After listening closely to the questions from our CVS Beauty Club fans, we've updated our Beauty Board to provide our members with access to a broader range of experts from across the health and beauty industries," said Cheryl Mahoney, vice president of beauty for CVS/pharmacy. "The new Beauty Board is the latest way the ExtraCare Beauty Club is improving the beauty-shopping experience."

The Beauty Board will also appear in new videos exploring top beauty topics, including previews of new products, how-to demonstrations of the latest styles and answers to common beauty questions. Fans will be able to have their questions answered via the Beauty Gets Personal video responses from the Beauty Board.

In addition, the Beauty Board Facebook tab has been redesigned, now including a FAQ section with answers and product recommendations from the board for previously-asked beauty questions. More information on the Beauty Board members, including the rotating Guest Expert, is available on the dedicated tab.

In addition to selecting "Like" on the Beauty Board's dedicated Facebook page, special offers, giveaways and exclusive content can also be accessed by following @cvsbeautyclub on Twitter.
