Cosmoprof North America 2012 starts Sunday at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas. When the clock strikes 10 that morning opening up the show floor for business, it will also mark the 10th anniversary of CPNA.
Like many in the beauty biz, I was there at the very first CPNA. It has truly blossomed into THE business-to-business beauty event of the year every year. Thank you, Professional Beauty Association and SoGeCos! It’s really hard to imagine where we’d all be without CPNA.
I'll be taking time out of my busy schedule Thursday through next Tuesday in Las Vegas to personally thank PBA officials, SoGeCos representatives and others associated with the event. They deserve a big thank-you from everyone. (And I’m sure they’d appreciate it.)
A milestone such as this one is also a time for reflection, which brings me to a thought I’ve recently had: Is there a need for a second Cosmoprof North America-sponsored event during the winter?
I’m not talking about the Winter BBSI trade show that the old-timers (you know who you are!) remember. And I realize that there’s the manufacturers reps' Western Buying Conference, the many salon/spa cash-and-carry trade shows, other industry events, etc.
But … how about a business-to-business conference that offers educational opportunities? With a mini exhibitors area?
And … who else other than this highly successful PBA-SoGeCos partnership could pull off something like that for the betterment of the industry?
I hope that you’ll share your thoughts with me—and, more importantly, those in charge of CPNA—during the next few days and beyond.
Have a great show! May you easily find the lines that’ll help you grow in the good times that are ahead, suppliers that will become your best partners. May you learn new things—even just one—in these exciting times to better your business. Oh, and don't forget to have fun in Vegas.
