TIGI—which markets brands under Bed Head, Catwalk, S-Factor, Rockaholic, Hair Reborn, Copyright Colour and TIGI Cosmetics in the professional-beauty industry—now has "dedicated manufacturer sales representatives" to service, market, educate, train and ship products directly to salons.
Effective Feb. 1, TIGI started providing what it calls "the full-service street distribution of its products" throughout most of the United States via its own "manufacturer sales representatives" who are servicing independent professional salons.
In a written statement to Beauty Store Business via email, TIGI said, "As the professional-beauty industry has changed in composition, so have its distribution channels. Over the past few years our industry has seen consolidation in the distribution channels through alliances, acquisitions, reduced in-salon sales representation and expanding competitive portfolios. As a result, TIGI has strategically determined to alter its distribution approach for 2012. TIGI will realign the current field-distribution channels to dramatically broaden our presence and portfolio within professional salons."
TIGI added that it is deploying highly-trained experienced direct sales specialists to call upon salons to provide:
- Business and merchandise planning
- Educational planning customized for salons
- Value-added promotions and incentives to improve salon profitability
- A salon loyalty program providing incentives, education and back bar
- An experienced customer-support team for prompt service and deliveries
- A dedicated full-time color and product hotline
To further support professional salons and stylists, TIGI products and promotions are continuing to be readily available through its partners: the professional-only stores of TIGI's existing salon-products distributors.
Over the years salons have developed working relationships with store product specialists and have this additional option available for their TIGI product needs, noted the company.
With its manufacturer sales representatives and the convenience of TIGI's products inside the professional-only stores of TIGI's network, salons will continue to enjoy the benefits of the pro-beauty supplier's merchandise no matter how they choose to shop, the company stated.
