Amazon Cracks Down On Fake Customer Reviews

Shoppers depend on product reviews more than ever, and e-commerce company Amazon recognizes that its customers’ purchases weigh heavily on reviews. As a result, the e-tailer has made updates to its customer reviews policy to ensure that its shoppers are experiencing the most authentic product reviews possible.

Amazon has reportedly sued hundreds of people and companies in recent years that provided fake reviews on its site for a fee or purchased them.

Consumers Buy More Online in Winter

An average of 34% of consumers buy more online in winter than at other times of the year, according to the participants of a survey conducted by One Hour Translation in eight key world markets during the latter half of January 2015. Winter is defined as January and February in seven countries; June, July and August in Australia.

Shoppers Want to Chat With Brands on Mobile Devices

A recent study of more than 2,100 U.S. residents found that 62% of them expect live chat to be available on mobile devices, and 82% would use it. The survey, which was commissioned by Moxie Software, also identified the rising trend of live online chat for sales and support assistance and found that 75% of survey respondents would prefer to use live online chat versus calling to speak with an agent.
