Ulta Beauty has appointed Catherine “Cathy” Halligan, senior vice president of social-commerce platform Powerreviews, to its board of directors.
Halligan is replacing Hervé Defforey, who will resign from the board effective Jan. 28. Defforey resides and works primarily overseas—which he earlier cited as the reasons for his resignation.
Halligan holds more than 20 years of experience in marketing and ecommerce within the retail industry. Prior to joining Powerreviews, she held several senior-level positions with prominent retailers. Her previous roles included: chief marketing officer of Walmart.com, vice president of direct marketing for Blue Nile and vice president and general manager of Internet for Williams Sonoma. She began her career as a marketing and planning analyst for Lands’ End.

Additionally, board member Kenneth T. Stevens is moving into Defforey’s post of chair of the nominating & corporate governance committee.
